Why use Amplified Wedding Band?
February is generally the start of our gigging season. Holding your wedding in February definitely makes sense if you’re looking for top quality service providers at a good fee – some venues and entertainers drop their fees for “out of season” bookings. That’s not something that we do. Why? Because our fees are ridiculously competitive all year around! Don’t just take our word for it though – do some research. You’ll find our fees are much more attractive than the majority of other professional bands.
We’ll tell you something else as well – we hate the word “package”. Bronze package, silver package, gold package; we’re sure you’ve heard this from many service providers, and we all know that packages are just designed to get you to spend more money than you were planning. So when you hire AMPLIFIED BAND, you won’t have any packages, just up to two hours of amazing sounding classic and contemporary live band music spread throughout the night AND additional DJ music at no extra cost.
Communication Is Key
This was one of the reasons why Kerry and Michaela asked us to perform at their wedding reception in the Trent building at Nottingham university, a large hall which has no doubt hosted lectures and talks by some very distinguished guests – and now it was our turn! The future Mr. and Mrs. Adams had hired us almost a year ago based on both the information on our website and a chat with over the phone which we feel is quite important – we get a feel of what clients are looking for and clients get to talk with the band rather than just an impersonal email.
The Process Of Setting Up For Live Wedding Bands
The Trent building boasts a nice stage, which we decided not to set up on. Kerry and Michaela thought this was unusual until we explained that the acoustics of the room are such that playing from the stage would make the sound of an electric band slightly mushy and ill-defined. When the room was built and the stage constructed, there was no such thing as rock music and what’s good for a classical orchestra isn’t so good for amplified music. As a professional live wedding band with experience of performing in literally hundreds of venues, it’s this know-how that allows us to get the best sound out of any room.
Amazing Results? Of Course!
The result? We sounded amazing; but then, we always do. Being a four piece band, we have a really nice powerful yet contained sound, and having not one but three vocalists in the band means that we can create a powerhouse of harmonies and perform a really broad repertoire of music. Kerry requested that the first dance be “1000 years” by Christina Perri, and we were happy to oblige. We called all the guests onto the edge of the dance floor so that bride and groom could be surrounded by their loved ones, and then we announced Mr. and Mrs Adams onto the dance floor to do their thing.
Playing The Right Stuff
After a really tasteful first dance we rocked through two hours of classic rock and soul modern pop and indie hits that created a full dance floor all night. We can always tell a night is going well when the groom, best man and various other men decide to wear their ties around their heads and jump up and down on the dance floor like lunatics! Of course it always helps if the band plays “I predict a riot”, “Chelsea dagger”, “Sex on fire” and “All the small things” in quick succession…not to be outdone, the ladies strutted their stuff to “Shake it off”, “Get lucky” and “Walking on sunshine”. Suffice to say, there were some very sweaty but happy people out there.
Kerry told us “that was brilliant guys, better than we could have hoped for! The first dance was amazing and every song was great too – thank you so much!”
